Nerve-Shaken | A Poem
by L.M. Browning, featured in The Wayfarer Spring 2019 Issue
What are we to do,
we who require silence
in a world of deafening din?
The far-flung corners
being as far as they are,
where shall we carry ourselves?
Loud minds require
a quiet place, quite removed
from the happening and hazards.
Weary bones and frayed fibers
all are made whole
by steeping in a well-guarded calm.
